Jibber Terms of Service
Effective date: August 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of Jibber, a Discord application that translates, checks the grammar of, and summarizes text you submit to it. By adding Jibber to a server, installing it to your Discord account, or running any of its commands, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Jibber.
Jibber is operated by Halpie ("the operator", "we", "us"). Questions and notices go to jibber@halpie.com.
1. What Jibber does
Jibber offers the following commands:
| Command | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/translate |
Slash command | Translates text you type |
Translate |
Message context menu | Translates a message you select |
/grammar |
Slash command | Corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation |
/summarize |
Slash command | Produces a short summary of text you type |
Summarize |
Message context menu | Summarizes a message you select |
/settings |
Slash command | Sets your preferred output language |
Every reply is ephemeral, which means Discord shows it only to the person who ran the command.
Jibber uses Discord's HTTP interactions. It holds no Gateway connection, reads no message history, and does not use the Message Content privileged intent. It receives only the text you type into a command, or the single message you explicitly select through a context menu command.
Results come from a third party AI service, currently Google Gemini. See section 7 and the Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement for your country, and you must comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If Discord prohibits your use of its platform, you may not use Jibber.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Jibber to:
- submit content that is illegal where you or the operator are located;
- submit content that violates Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or Developer Policy;
- submit another person's personal, confidential, or sensitive information without a lawful basis for doing so;
- attempt to make the AI service produce content that violates Google's Prohibited Use Policy;
- probe, overload, or circumvent Jibber's rate limits, or automate command submission at a volume a person could not produce by hand;
- reverse engineer, resell, or rebrand the service; or
- present Jibber's output as professional legal, medical, financial, or translation-certification advice.
Jibber applies a per user rate limit. Hitting it is a normal signal to slow down, not a fault to work around.
4. Your content
You keep all rights in the text you submit. We claim no ownership of your input or of the output Jibber returns to you.
You grant us only the permission needed to run the command you asked for, which means transmitting your text to the AI service, receiving the result, and delivering that result back to you in Discord. That permission ends when the command finishes.
You are responsible for having the right to submit the text you send. When you use a context menu command on someone else's message, you are choosing to send that person's message to the AI service, and you should consider whether that is appropriate before doing it.
5. AI generated output
Jibber's output is produced by a statistical language model. It can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading, and it can be wrong in ways that read as confident and fluent.
Do not rely on Jibber for anything consequential without independent verification. In particular, do not treat a translation as accurate for legal, medical, safety, contractual, immigration, or official purposes. Jibber is not a certified translation service.
Output is provided for your own use. You are responsible for what you do with it, including anything you republish.
6. Availability
Jibber is provided free of charge, with no guaranteed uptime. We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice. Commands may fail during provider outages, rate limiting, or deployment.
We are not obliged to retain anything for you, and we cannot recover output that was not delivered.
7. Third party services
Running a command involves services we do not control:
- Discord delivers the interaction and hosts the reply.
- Google (Gemini API) performs the translation, grammar, or summarization.
- Cloudflare hosts the Worker and the preferences database.
Your use of Jibber is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, outages, or changes to their terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jibber is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non infringement.
We do not warrant that Jibber will be uninterrupted, secure, error free, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of Jibber.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to Jibber is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Jibber in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is zero, or PHP 5,000.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any right you hold under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 that cannot be waived.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of Jibber, your breach of these terms, or your infringement of a third party's rights.
11. Suspension and termination
We may block a Discord user ID or a server from using Jibber at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or that continued access threatens the service or its other users.
You may stop using Jibber at any time by removing it from your server or uninstalling it from your account. To also delete your stored preference, follow the deletion process in the Privacy Policy; removing the app does not by itself delete that row.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change, and the revision history is public in Jibber's repository. Material changes will be announced through Jibber's support channel where one exists. Continuing to use Jibber after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of the Philippines have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings locally.
14. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding Jibber.
